Any furniture is in need of care, rattan is no
exception. Keep furniture clean, and it will serve for
long. It is advisable to carry out cleaning once a week.
Remove dust from the carcass, and weaving through the
vacuum cleaner or a regular brush. Then to wipe them
damp but not wet cloth or sponge.
Textile and Lamination
For a long time, mostly bark and rattan core was used
for weaving, but recently now other synthetic materials
are being used as well as a lamination has become
popular - a way of causing the material to the surface
using glue and small nails. The basis is typically used
plywood.
Tropical Timber
Albizia falcataria, one of the fastest-growing trees in
the world, is a fuel wood species for the humid tropics.
It is a large deciduous tree with a thin, very broad
crown of dull green foliage, bipinnately compound leaves
with numerous small, oblong leaflets and narrow, flat
brown pods that split open. It is widely planted in
tropical countries and becoming naturalized. The wood
soft, bright, and almost white and because of its
affordability it is the most widely used material for
production of souvenirs.
